Carpool is a fast, physical toy-car board game where players do not drive the cars — they drive the entire game board. Swerve, brake, and turn to slide your team’s cars into the corner pockets.

A game board with a motorized twist

The board sits on top of an RC car. When the RC car moves underneath, the board moves too — sending the toy cars sliding, turning, bumping, and dropping into the corner pockets.

Each player gets two cars

Place all four cars in the center of the board to start the round.

Drive for seven seconds

On your turn, drive the RC base briefly. The board moves, but the cars move freely.

Get your cars into the corner pockets. Accidentally pocket your opponent’s car and they score.

Carpool turns real science concepts into something players can see and feel: motion, acceleration, inertia, friction, momentum, and gravity.

Why it works

The RC car transfers motion to the board. The board transfers motion to the toy cars. Players learn that tiny changes in turning, braking, and acceleration can completely change the outcome.

Original idea by a young inventor

Carpool began as a science night project: a moving game board on top of an RC car, with small toy cars, corner pockets, and a simple challenge — can you control motion well enough to score?

The first prototype proved something important: people immediately understood it, wanted to try it, and got excited as soon as the board moved.
